7 days on the Disney Dream
Adam and I recently embarked on an extraordinary adventure aboard the Disney Dream during a 7-night Mediterranean cruise. It was our first time experiencing a Disney cruise, and we were blown away by the luxurious and unforgettable experience it provided. Departing from the enchanting city of Barcelona, we were thrilled to have an ocean view verandah state room, which allowed us to soak in the breathtaking views throughout the journey.
One of the highlights of our onboard experience was the world-class dining options available on the Disney Dream. In particular, we indulged in two specialty dining experiences that truly exceeded our expectations. Remy’s restaurant, inspired by the beloved movie “Ratatouille,” offered an upscale dining affair with a contemporary French twist. The restaurant’s elegant and sophisticated atmosphere, coupled with its cocktail attire dress code, set the stage for a memorable evening. The menu showcased delectable dishes such as succulent lobster, perfectly seared scallops, and melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu beef. Additionally, Remy’s featured a tasting menu complemented by carefully curated wine pairings. For food enthusiasts and those seeking a unique culinary adventure on their Disney cruise, Remy’s is an absolute must-try.
Another exceptional specialty restaurant on board is Palo, where we relished both the stunning ocean views and the luxurious ambiance. Palo’s menu boasted a wide array of delectable Italian delicacies, including flavorful pasta dishes, fresh seafood, and succulent steaks. This dining establishment also adhered to a dress code, ensuring an elegant dining experience. Reservations for both Remy’s and Palo are highly recommended, and we suggest securing them via the Disney app before boarding the ship to guarantee your spot.
Complementing the specialty dining options were three main restaurants that offered rotational dining, a unique concept that allowed us to savor the culinary delights of each establishment throughout our cruise. Animator’s Palate, Enchanted Garden, and Royal Palace each had distinct themes and menus, ensuring a delightful variety of flavors and atmospheres. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality and taste of the food at these venues. Additionally, for a more casual dining experience, we enjoyed quick-service options like Cabanas and Flo’s Cafe. It’s also worth mentioning that Disney Dream provides the convenience of complimentary room service, allowing us to enjoy a meal or snack in the comfort of our stateroom.
Aside from the exceptional dining experiences, the Disney Dream offered a plethora of entertainment options and activities for guests of all ages. We were enthralled by the Broadway-style shows that graced the ship’s magnificent theaters, providing unforgettable evenings of live performances. For those seeking a bit of adventure, the ship featured a thrilling water coaster and a mini-golf course, perfect for friendly competitions. Multiple pools allowed us to cool off and bask in the Mediterranean sun. And, of course, we can’t forget the excitement of pirate night, where the ship transformed into a swashbuckling paradise.
To truly pamper ourselves and unwind, we indulged in the Senses Spa, a haven of luxury and relaxation. The spa offered a wide range of services, and we particularly enjoyed the thermal suite, which included heated loungers, saunas, and steam rooms. These amenities provided the perfect respite after long days exploring the enchanting ports of call. The spa also offered private treatment rooms for massages, facials, and other rejuvenating treatments. We highly recommend trying the bamboo massage—it was a true highlight of our spa experience. To ensure you secure your preferred services, we suggest making advance reservations.
One aspect that truly stood out during our Disney Dream cruise was the impeccable attention to detail and cleanliness of the ship. The Disney Dream was flawlessly maintained, with every corner sparkling and a clear commitment to excellence. The entire cast, including the friendly and helpful Joseph, our dining waiter, contributed to the extraordinary atmosphere on board. Joseph’s exceptional service and warm personality made a lasting impression on us, and we were even tempted to bring him home with us. For any future clients traveling on the Disney Dream, we will definitely request Joseph to enhance their dining experience.
In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend a Disney Cruise to anyone seeking an extraordinary vacation. While it may come with a higher price tag, the value you receive is well worth the investment. The Disney Dream provided us with an unparalleled level of luxury, outstanding dining experiences, top-notch entertainment, and unforgettable memories. In the coming weeks, I will be sharing more details about each of our port stops on my blog. Our Mediterranean itinerary included stops in Naples, Rome, Florence, Cannes, and Palma de Mallorca, each offering unique cultural experiences and captivating sights. Stay tuned for more exciting tales from our enchanting journey!
